Mental Health Presentation for 6th Class

Carol from Cork Mental Health Foundation delivered a talk on mental health and well-being to 6th class.
This generated a healthy discussion around mental health while also creating awareness and giving the pupils tools and techniques to help alleviate stress, anxiety or frustration.
Carol demonstrated how to use our breathing as an anchor to settle our thoughts. One of the techniques practiced was Petal Breathing. This is a simple but effective strategy that can help bring us into the present moment.
As part of the presentation, pupils received rulers with self care tips. All 6th class were also given mental health information leaflets to be read at home.
