October to December in 6th Class
In October, we dressed up for Halloween. There were fantastic costumes in sixth class, many people dressed up in groups as characters from movies like Inside Out and Disney Princesses.
In November, we started doing ukulele lessons with Alice. She helped us learn a lot.
A Green School Travel Officer called Catherine Russell visited to complete a walkability audit from the school to the village square with our Green School Committee.
During science week we made butter, there was even a chant which was SHAKE IT UP SHAKE IT DOWN SHAKE IT SHAKE IT ALL AROUND SHAKE IT HIGH SHAKE IT LOW SHAKE IT SHAKE IT TO AND FRO SHAKE IT OVER SHAKE IT UNDER PRETTY SOON YOU’LL HAVE SOME BUTTER.
Three of the girls in 6th class (Doireann, Clodagh and Tara) went to a science quiz in UCC along with three girls in 5th class (Aisling, Elva and Isabelle).
Lucy G, Maci and Lucy K did a great job of mopping in the corridor so students and teachers do not slip on the wet floor.
A representative from S.E.A.I. came to the school and taught us about electricity and how much it is being wasted.
In December, sixth class took part in a Santa dash with senior infants in aid of maths resources and CUH Children’s Ward.
We sang in the airport for flight arrivals and everyone had smiles on their faces. We hope everyone has the best Christmas and a happy new year!
