We really enjoyed celebrating Science Week this week in 3rd Class.
We watched the 'Curious Minds Science Week Show' which was filled with fun facts and experiments. We drew pictures of our favourite facts and shared them with the class. The show also gave us an idea for our very own class experiment. We wanted to find out how tornadoes work, so we brought in some plastic bottles to find out. We found out that you need air coming from two directions, cold air and hot air. When they meet, we get a loop of hot and cold air and when the winds get strong enough we get a tornado.
Each day this week we also watched an episode of 'Let's Find Out', where we learned about lots of other fun experiments.
We might have a few future scientists among us. Some of the girls enjoyed sharing information about their parents who are working in science.
