Big congratulations to Orla Barry, Meabh Deane, Katie Foley, Julia Moore & Aisling O'Donovan, 'The Slurry Slayers'. The girls have made the final shortlist of 30 projects for the STEPS Young Engineer Awards with their project 'The Super Slurrinater'.
The group from 4th class brainstormed problems in the community and came up with an idea to help with one of the problems. They designed a prototype and presented it to an engineer who visited our class. It is a fantastic achievement to be selected for shortlist out of over 700 entries so a huge congratulations to the girls.
The shortlisted projects will be judged by an external panel of judges. They will announce the winners, runners up and four highly commended teams in an online ceremony in May. Best of luck Slurry Slayers!
